Us
Cornerstone College is an independent High School (Grades R-12) and Hostel, based in Silverton, Pretoria, South Africa. Cornerstone College has created a secure and disciplined Christian environment in which the best possible education is provided, at the lowest possible cost. The school’s other major goal is to invest in the future of South Africa, by developing our young people and by giving them a strong educational foundation. Size of school: 1350 students in total, of whom 100 students are also in the hostel.

Logo
The base of the logo represents the foundation or cornerstone that is provided for the students' development, as well as a tick for academic excellence. The leaf growing out of the foundation represents new life and growth. It can also represent the shield of God's protection.
Our ethos is based on Philippians 4:8 and 9, “ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice.”

Directors
The College was founded by Sally and Rob Hurlin in 1991 as a Christian calling and in response to the education crisis in South Africa. Their vision was to create a disciplined and secure Christian environment in which the best possible education could be provided at the lowest possible cost to students from a disadvantaged educational background. The other major goal was to invest in the future of South Africa by developing our young people and giving them the necessary strong educational foundation.
Sally Hurlin
Sally Hurlin has always had a passion for education. She obtained a BA in 1980 and an HED (Cum Laude) in 1981 from the University of the Witwatersrand. She also obtained a B Ed (Cum Laude) in 1990 after part time study. She is the Principal of the High School and has over 40 years of experience in education.
Rob Hurlin
Rob Hurlin obtained a BSc (Eng) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1978 and a PhD (Eng) in 1993. He worked in the Aeronautical industry for more than 22 years, specialising ultimately in business development. He assisted the College on a part-time basis before becoming its full-time Director in 2001.
